Privacy Policy

Out Loud is the company of Blair Haney (Out Loud LLC), based in Dallas, Texas. This site is a small marketing site, and it collects very little. This page explains what it does collect, why, and what you can do about it — in plain language.

The short version

If you don't enter your email, we don't collect anything that identifies you. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. The only personal information we gather is an email address you choose to give us — and we never sell it.

What we collect

Your email address — only if you enter it in the “there's a book on the way” signup. We use it to tell you when the book is real and to send occasional updates.

What you send us — if you email Blair Haney at the address below, we receive your email address and whatever you write, so we can reply.

Basic technical logs — like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically logs standard request data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to serve pages and keep the site secure. We don't use this to identify or track you.

What we use it for

To send you the updates you asked for, to reply when you get in touch, and to keep the site running and secure. That's it. We don't sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who helps us handle it

We use a few trusted services to run the site. They only process your information to provide their service to us:

• Substack — stores newsletter emails and sends the emails. Substack's privacy policy.
• Vercel — hosts the site and keeps those technical logs. Vercel's privacy policy.
• Microsoft 365 — handles email sent to our hellooutloud.com address.

Your choices

You can unsubscribeat any time using the link in the footer of every email we send. You can also ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we hold about you — including rights you may have under laws like the GDPR (Europe) or CCPA/CPRA (California) — by emailing us. We'll take care of it.

Keeping and protecting your information

We keep your email only for as long as you want to hear from us — unsubscribe and it's removed from the active list. We rely on the security practices of the services above to protect your data in transit and at rest.

Children

This site isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Visitors outside the U.S.

Out Loud is based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed here. If you're visiting from elsewhere, you're entrusting your information to be handled in the U.S.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the “last updated” date above.
